This scope has the bmj factory designation stamp which indicates Hensoldt & Sohne Optische Werke A-G, Wetzlar, Germany. Perfect optics with heavy line and post. Measures 12" long. Stamped on left side is "Dialytan 4x bmj (factory code) 68385 +". This scope survived in near mint condition with just a couple of spots of storage wear and some high edge wear on the adjustment knob. No mounts. Comes with a copy of the book "The German Sniper 1914-1945" by Peter Senich. A nearly identical can be found on page 279; the only difference being the serial number indicated telescopic sight produced for German military use. A lot of scopes were used by snipers during the second World War, but this is a scope made specifically for German snipers.
