Ceremonial style or theatrical Bavarian helmet for non-commissioned officers or soldiers with rampant lion. Tombac alloy skull with gilded mountings, trim, and rivets, with the arms of the Bavarian state under a crown. The chin strap is missing. Richly ornamented cross plate, lion with the stamped number "56". A plate with the wearer's number "39" soldered on the back visor. Small crack in the skull. All parts original and complete, except for the missing chin strap. Lion may be reproduction part or its gilding was lost and it has been painted with gold radiator paint.
