Top and bottom of crown trimmed with broad silver metallic lace bands. Black band emblazoned with the motto 'VAICRE OU MOURIER [VICTORY OR DEATH]. Black leather lining with cord ties; a Prussian mitre cap of Napoleonic era, 20th century reproduction. Die-stamped brass front plate bearing crown over six-point star with eagle in center. Blue cloth body with white tape edging and scarlet, scalloped band around bottom, bearing three die-stamped, brass flaming bombs or grenades. Lining of blue cotton; an American Revolutionary era cocked hat of black plush felt with brass button and gold Mylar looping over velveteen cockade of black. Black silk/nylon binding to hat leaves. White linen lining bearing "period" crown ownership stamps, broad arrow and 1775; a reproduction of a Russian Napoleonic shacko with foul weather, gathered cover. Black leather crown and visor, brass scaled chinstraps; a British 20th century court dress/ceremonial bicorne for a Governor-General. Press board covered with hatter's plush or "beaver". Hat trimmed with foliage-figured grosgrain lace and black edge binding. Ends trimmed with silver bullion tassels. Black grosgrain cockade with silver bullion loop ending at silvered button bearing Royal cipher on face. Cap surmounted with broad spray of white/red feathers. Russet leather sweatband and white silk lining, bearing maker's name: [name missing due to shattered silk at top] LONDON' at top and inked in orange 'GOV. GENL' on side. - English 20th century bicorn. Black felt hat with black rosette, silver bullion lace with silver crown button. Two bullion silver tassels, full lining. Sweatband marked "London". Large red and white feathers.
