Double breasted tail coat of scarlet super fine with dark blue standing collar lapels and cuffs. The facings all finished with gilded silver embroidered holes and trimmed with convex gilt buttons bearing the device of a crossed baton and a sword within a wreath. The two piece buttons backmarked, "CHARLES JENNENS/LONDON". Silk upper lining with white listed serge skirt linings. Although cut to look like a Napoleonic Officer's Coat, the method of tailoring suggests that this coat was made circa 1840, probably for a retired general to wear on special occasions. Associated Mid 19th century crimson sash and a gilt bullion which is also 19th century and epaulettes (fair condition). Coat in overall good condition with the exception of some loss underneath the epaulettes on shoulders.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 38"L. x 10 1/2" W.
