Ca. 1840. Scarlet superfine jacket, single breasted with white standing collar and pointed cuffs which is all edged with 1" wide silver metallic lace. Hook and eye closure in front. Slits at bottom of cuff with one button closures. Body lined with crimson silk with heavy cotton padding and canvas interfacing inside. Silk lining heavily shattered and stained. Silver cord knot with ball button on each shoulder. Exterior very good overall.
