The very first of these rifle was built at the Carl Gustaf factory in 1898. These were considered some of the finest military Mausers ever made. Both rifles features the military style rear sight, walnut stock and hand guard, ramrod, steel butt plates and brass sighting discs on right side of stock. Gun (A) is stamped "Carl Gustaf 1900". Matching number on frame, bolt, shroud, safety, buttplate, floorplate and forend tip/bayonet lug. Mismatched firing pin lock. Metal is basically blue-grey patina. Wood has usual dings from use. Import stamped under barrel. Gun (B) is stamped "Waffenfabrik Oberndorf 1899". Matching numbers on frame, bolt, bolt release, safety, firing pin lock, buttplate, forend and trigger guard. Most of the metal surfaces are a blue-silver patina, with the exception of the frame which retains approximately 80% original blue. Stock has usual dings. Import stamp under barrel. Barrel tip is not threaded. Nice pair of early Swedish Mauser.
