The ornate hammered brass sheath of this sword has a presentation plaque to "Brigadier General Joseph Cappucci, Director OSI USAF with highest esteem and regards from Brigadier General Fabian C. Ver Commanding General PSC". General Ver was the Philippines highest military of commander found guilty of the premeditated killing of senator Venigno Aquino at the Manila Airport on August 21st, 1983. General Cappucci was the OSI director during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1972. Cappucci was a veteran of World War II, member of the eighth Air Force, injured on D-Day. Worked with the OSI beginning in 1957. Both the sword handle and scabbard are a decorated, hand hammered brass. The steel blade measures 28" with an overall length of 37". Sword comes in a specially made walnut presentation case with red lining. Walnut case has a large plaque in lid that reads "Presidential Security Command - Malacanang". Very interesting and ornate memento of the Vietnam War in the special OSI services.
