The serial number of this rifle places manufacture from December 1953 to end of production 1957. It was rebuilt for use in the Korean War. Features the National Match rear sight stamped NM/2A; right adjustment dial is stamped "BME" and "NM". Op-rod is stamped "NM". Front sight is stamped "NM062". Left side of barrel is stamped "NM". Barrel is dated February 1963, stamped with D.O.D. mark and is numbered SA7791036. Left side of walnut stock has the D.O.D. three star eagle in box 1/2" used after November of 1953. Bolt is No. 6528287-SA US2 (correct). Trigger assembly is stamped 6528290-SA (correct). TE reading: 4. ME reading: 1. Metal retains 95% or better of the arsenal applied parkerized finish. Visible rifling but worn. Proof "P" in circle on wrist. Stocks are near mint with a couple minor impressions. This is a high condition all era-matching parts National Match M1 Garand rifle dating to the end of production of the M1 Garand.
