Manufactured in 1888. This is a standard Winchester low wall single shot sporting rifle. Utilizes No. 1 blued octagon barrel and a sporting front sight. Rear sight has been removed. Razor sharp legends and edges. Barrel still retains approximately 90% original factory blue. There are two tapped scope block mounting holes on either side of the rear sight slot cut and two holes drilled at breech which will allow the mounting of a barrel tube scope. The frame retains approximately 50% case colors on right side with flashes on top of left side. Frame does have some light salt and pepper age spotting. Wood is excellent and proud to metal, perfectly fitted. Even the buttplate has traces of case colors on top. Action is perfect, strong visible rifling, a modern aluminum scope rail has been removed and is included, but I would find a much more traditional way to mount a period scope.
