This rifle was manufactured Kokura Arsenal. It is from the 24-26 series. Front sight is inverted V with guards, has a polish cleaning rod and has a folding leaf rear sight to 2,400 meters. Frame still has the royal Chrysanthemum with the Japanese characters signifying Type 38. Two piece walnut buttstock with the short hand guard. Knurled cocking knob with the safety indicator flat forged buttplate, blued finish, matching last three digits on bolt, has original dust cover, smooth acorn knob. Rifle still wears a majority of the arsenal blue on frame, middle round band is still brown patina, freckling on floor plate and trigger guard. Perfect working order, strong rifled bore. Fire above average on this scarce Model 38.
