This frame was manufactured in 1909. The barrel is Springfield armory 3-42 ordinance bomb. It has been turned into a target rifle by removing and filing down the military sight. A globe front sight has been installed as well as an Lyman receiver sight. The rear of the hand guard has been customized, the stock is original WWII pistol grip type C, but there is an inspector stamp BAWL which stands for Banicia arsenal post war WWII rework. A rollover cheek piece has been added to the top of the rear stock, serial number matching the frame has been electro-pencil on bolt. Muzzle has been re crowned. This was attempt by someone to create a period national match rifle. may have been a military armorer or private individual. Metal retains most of it's dark grey green parkerized military finish. Trigger shoe has been added, action is perfect, has an ME reading of 2 with a clean strong rifled bore. Should make a nice match gun.
