The 03-A3 has the distinction of being the last issued military firearm widely used in both theaters by the U.S. during the second World War. These were designed to reduce the cost of production for the standard 1903 Springfield. Utilized parkerized finish with numerous pressed steel parts to include barrel bands with swivels, pressed trigger guard and floor plate, standard issued straight walnut stock. Has the new rear bridge mounted military sight, barrel is stamped R.A. 7-43. Metal retains virtually all of the arsenal applied matte parkerized finish. Has the pressed checkered buttplate with trap door, perfect action, bore has an ME reading of one, TE reading of two. Extremely nice lightly used mid war model 1903 A3. Has a proof P on wrist, left side of stock is stamped SAGW with ordinance wheel. SAGW was used in the Springfield armory from 1940-1942. SGAW stood for Gilbert H. Stuart, 1940-1942.
