Rifle features heavy round rust blued barrel and frame, front scope block (no sight), rear barrel mounted block, 19.5" on center, front bridge factory tapped, rear bridge has block installed and base for receiver sight installed, plain wide forearm pistol grip walnut stock with 14-3/4" adjustable weight groove, no sling swivel in stock, and has a hard black rubber buttpad. The Model 40-X was introduced in 1955 and manufactured until 1964. Would have been fitted with Redfield Olympic sights or scope bases. All metal is in near new condition. Top stock profile has been altered and there is some finish loss. Fine bore and action.
