A) British 1821 Pattern Officer's saber. Piped spine on slightly curved steel blade, etched with a crown over intertwined "VR" in a panel and oak leaves and acorns in another on right side, left side etched with "J. GIBBONS/Canterbury" and a large crown over "VR". Steel hilt with two branches and shark skin grip with braided brass wire, steel scabbard. Good condition; blade excellent with a few minor grey areas, scabbard and hilt with grey patina and some light to medium pitting overall, grip with some losses. B) Victorian Warwickshire Rifle Volunteers Officer's saber. Slightly curved single fuller steel blade. Pierced steel semi-basket guard engraved with oak leaves, acorns and large crown over "VR" and "WARWICKSHIRE/RIFLE/VOLUNTEERS" in a banner. Shark skin grip wrapped with three types of braided silver wire. Steel scabbard. Good condition; blade cleaned, some areas of pitting, hilt has been cleaned, pommel and guard have been cleaned, excellent markings, inside of guard rusty. Scabbard does not fit completely on sword, although it is correct, presumably, due to rust on inside of scabbard.
