In the style of a pattern 1798 basket hilt except hilt is of steel instead of brass. Tapered double edged straight blade with partial fuller on each side. Steel hilt with faceted pommel and ball capstan. Chagrin grip with braided copper and brass wire. Very good condition; blade retains a light grey patina with some scattered dark spots and areas of light pitting. Hilt retains a dark brown patina with some rust on inside and around blade. Capstan is probably a replacement.
