This lot consists of a watercolor entitled, "Conference with Lord Howe and Benjamin Franklin," by J. Scott William, as noted on the verso of the painting and by his signature on the lower left of the image. Depicted in this watercolor are four gentlemen standing together outside of a large colonial home with army troops in the background. Of the four prominent men figured one is Benjamin Franklin who is the gentleman figured in the brown long coat that is standing in front of the gentleman in the green long coat. Lord Howe, based on the fact that he was a naval officer, one would assume that he is the figure on the far left of the painting that appears to be asking the group if they would follow him. He dons a blue long coat with red accents. The watercolor is framed in a simple wooden frame under glass and matted. On the verso of there is a noted taped to the back noting other important information on the piece. Overall the watercolor is in wonderful condition with minor wear present to the image and the frame.

Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).
