These magazines are referred to as the Type IV magazine on page 209 in the book on Model 1911's by Joe Poyer. The Type IV magazine was basically the same as a Type III but made without lanyard loop. It has the five "Witness" holes, two tone temper line, pin base, and is not marked. This magazine was used on military contracts as well as commercial models from serial number 125567-629500 (1915 to 1919) and serial number 700000-735000 (1924 to 1941) (transition models to the 1911-A1). All have visible temper lines. All four magazines are in excellent condition, retaining the majority of the blue on base and body. Followers retain nearly all of the blue. These magazines would be appropriate for any high condition Colt within this serial range.
