Slightly curved steel blade with partial fuller on each side. One side depicts an engraved wild boar and a panel of scrollwork; the other side a running deer and a panel of scrollwork. Top of the spine is engraved with an arrow. Cast gilt brass hilt with dog's head quillon, chiseled scenes of animals of the hunt, and hunters. Faceted wood grip with panels of tortoise shell veneer. Complete with brown leather scabbard with brass hanger. Fair condition; blade has been sharpened and has some damage to edge, shows wear and scattered areas of spotting. Hilt retains traces of gilt finish in protected areas and is missing the guard, which was once on the right side. Grip missing veneer on right side. Scabbard has one taped repair near the tip and hanger has probably been replaced during the period of use.
