Straight tapered blade engraved on both sides with the same scenes of a standing buck and a panel of scrolls surrounding a hunter and a large bird, and the inscription "AMOUR HAYL / LORGUEIL". Detailed gilt brass hilt with D guard, dog's head quillon, and clamshell guard with a deeply chiseled scene of a princess and her servants. Stag grip with panels of piercing at each end, featuring a running deer at top and a lying deer at bottom. Gilt brass pommel cap with small capstan, with scenes of chiseled lions. Very good condition; blade has been sharpened and shows some scattered spotting with a mostly grey patina. Hilt retains approximately 80% of gilt finish. Guard slightly loose. Overall, a high quality and detailed German sword that presents very well.
