Curved steel blade with single fuller on each side. Ricasso stamped "U.S. / J.P. / 1860" on right side and "AMES MFG CO / CHICOPEE / MASS" on other side. Standard Model 1860 brass hilt with two branches on guard and leather wrapped wood grip. Complete with steel scabbard. Very good as found condition; blade has a series of nicks on edge and some sharpening marks, otherwise retaining a dark grey patina with excellent markings. Hilt retains a very dark patina. Branches and top of guard somewhat bent. Grip retains some leather wrap and one strand of wire. Scabbard retains a heavy dark brown patina.
