Round smoothbore brass barrel marked "LONDON" on top, in a panel, and with English view and proof marks on left side, near breech. Top of barrel, toward muzzle, with spurious "New York" inscription. Flat flintlock mechanism with gooseneck cock and sprigs of engraving at tail and on cock, center of lockplate marked "A.W. SPIES" Brass furniture with some simple engraving, pierced sideplate. Full length walnut stock and wooden ramrod. Very good condition, barrel retains mellow patina, lock has been reconverted and retains a freckled grey patina. Brass is a soft darkening yellow with a few minor dents and marks. Stock is good, as refinished, with a few scattered marks from use.
