This lot consists of a large pear shaped brilliant diamond engagement ring, set in platinum. The pear shaped brilliant diamond, is approximately eight carats, with a tapered baguette diamond on either side, two in total each approximately 0.50 points each totaling 1.0 carat in side diamonds. The center stone has inclusions present under 10x. The piece is marked as being platinum. This ring is accompanied by two certifications, one from GIA and the other from EGL, both of which were done in the spring of 2016. The GIA certification paperwork that the pear brilliant
cut diamond is 8.05 carats, has an I1 clarity and F color. Noted on the certification is that the stone is inscribed with a GIA number along with the measurements of the pear brilliant cut diamond. The EGL certification also notes that the diamond is 8.05 carats, has SI2 clarity and F color. Please note that both certifications note that this diamond has faint fluorescence, very good polish, and good symmetry. The EGL report also comes with an UGS appraisal summary. The ring is a size 7-1/2 and has a total of 4.7 dwt. The ring was originally stamped on the interior of the band, however time has worn it. Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear present.
