Manufactured 1919. Barrel is dated "3-19 SA" with an additional "A" which would indicate barrel sights checked for use with 06 cartridge, also indicates any rifle passing through arsenal repair, check or test. The Mk I has the distinctive cut-out or .30 caliber ejection port on left side of frame as it was intended for the MK I Pederson device that was invented in 1919, but came out too late to be used in the first World War. All standard milled 1919 features with the exception of military rear sight. Adjustment knobs are post-1920. Has a swept bolt, standard Springfield front sight, all pre-World War II milled parts, walnut forend with rear sight groove, and finger groove two bolt stock. No visible cartouche. Stock has been freshened up. Retains the majority of the arsenal reapplied matte military finish. ME reading: 1.5. TE reading: 4. Fine action. Comes with a 1918 dated sling.
