Barrel is stamped "SA 2-28" with Ordnance bomb. The receiver on this rifle was built in 1919 by Rock Island. It wears a Springfield 1928 barrel. Has all milled parts, World War I rear sight with dish knobs, hand guard has sight groove, checkered trapdoor buttplate; and a two bolt, no finger groove, Type C stock. Metal retains a military dull blue finish. Stock has no inspector marks. This is a fine example of a between-the-wars rebuild using all proper pre-war parts. Comes with original 1918 sling. ME reading: 2. TE reading: 5.
