Parade helmet with desirable double comb. Circa 1640. Classic German etching, decorative brass floral rivets, two piece bowl. Good hand forging hammer marks inside. Good lamination marks from layers wearing through on the outside. I believe some type of visor attachment was on the front but is missing. However the holes are in the helmet to allow for a visor attachment. What you are getting is a very pretty, decorated, double comb bowl. This item is from the collection of, described by, and authenticated by Herbert G. Ratner, Jr.
