There were 19,374 pistols of this model manufactured by Simeon North between 1817 and 1820. Round smoothbore steel barrel stamped "P/US" on left side of breech. Flat beveled lockplate with rounded tail section, brass pan, and reinforced cock, center of lockplate stamped withpartially visible markings "S. NORTH/MIDDLN. CON." Standard Model 1816 steel furniture, sideplate and barrel band stamped with small inspector's marks. Walnut stock with wooden ramrod. Good condition, showing heavy use and wear, overall. Steel components retain a brown patina with some freckling and scattered marks from use. Lock has been reconverted to flintlock configuration. Stock has some fractures and scattered marks.
