There were 19,374 pistols of this model manufactured by Simeon North between 1817 and 1820. Round smoothbore steel barrel stamped "P/US" on left side of breech. Flat beveled lockplate with rounded tail section, brass pan, and reinforced cock, center of lockplate stamped "S. NORTH/MIDDLN. CON." Standard Model 1816 steel furniture, sideplate and barrel band stamped with inspector's mark "Q". Walnut stock with wooden ramrod. Good condition, steel components have been cleaned and have minor freckling and scattered areas of corrossion. Markings on barrel and lock are very good. Lock has been reconverted to flintlock configuration. Stock good with some edge wear, minor cracks, and scattered marks.
