One of the most visually stunning coin operated machines ever manufactured by any company during the earlier part of the 20th century! The cast framework depicts a mermaid flanked on either side by Victorian dolphins that support the game which is then crowned with a statuesque finial. Displayed at a place of prominence in the previously owner's home with a beautifully painted surface resembling a bronze and verdigris finish. "A. Matthews 3/50" is etched into the water beneath the left dolphin, this is believed to be one of the original "mermaid machines" which were initially boat race arcade games. Once the manufacturer realized that having water in a arcade game was unsanitary and impractical they changed these beautiful machines to the now popular artillery shooters. In the past these machines, in complete condition, have sold for over two hundred thousand dollars($200,000)!! A rare opportunity to restore or rebuild a magnificent coin operated machine. CORRECTION: We could not find definitive evidence to support or refute this bronze sculpture was used as an Artillery Duel arcade machine. Though the design is the same and the piece is indeed early 1900s, the primary function is for use as an aquarium or fish tank.

Condition: (Very Good).
