This is a standard model. Features: two barrel bands, cleaning rod, 1884 rear-sight, full length walnut stock. The breech block is stamped "Model 1873". Left side of barrel has the eagle "VP" proof. The side plate is stamped "US Springfield" with eagle. Butt plate and bands are stamped "U.S.". Rifle has both of the sling swivels intact. The inspector stamps on this rifle are very good. The left side has the SWP Cartouche that is visible but not readable. The bottom of the wrist has the Serif proof "P" that is visible but not readable. As to condition, the metal is a smooth brown patina. The stock is excellent but does have the usual bumps and bruises. Action is perfect. Strong rifle bore with black powder residue. An excellent example of an all original Indian Wars Trapdoor.
