These well-made six shot, double action revolvers built on the Lefaucheux patent. A very similar revolver can be found on page 132 in the book "Systeme Lefaucheux" by Curtis, illustrating Confederate General Stonewall Jackson's double action Belgian-made Lefaucheux pinfire revolver. Page 136 shows a half dozen Civil War soldiers with similar revolvers, several nearly identical to the offered revolver. Features an octagon to round barrel, dovetail front sight, non-fluted six shot cylinder, and two piece dark walnut grips with lanyard ring and numerous proof marks. Indexes perfectly. Strong rifled bore with minor abrasion. Cylinder has approximately 80% of the high polish blue finish; balance of gun is basically gun metal grey. There are no serial numbers on the cylinder, but has Belgian proof. A few of the screws are marred.
