Manufactured 1969-72. Stamped on right barrel ".45 CAL MODEL 1955". Introduced in 1955; features double action, six shot, square butt N frame, case colored target hammer and trigger, black rubber grips. This is the heavy barrel target. Barrel has been shortened, as 6 - 1/2" was the only available factory length at the time. Sports a Patridge front sight and rear sight removed. Double action and lock-up is perfect. 98% original finish. Strong, near mint bore. You cannot tell that the barrel has been shortened as everything looks factory. Given his status, possible factory special order, but you cannot physically ascertain that barrel was shortened. This gun was used by world champion pistol shot Brian Moore.
