Size 7 Edwardian era officer's dress tunic and lancer's cap for the 5th Lancers. Tunic is made from blue material with a red collar, cuffs and plastron. The interior has a tan wool lining with a green paper label near the bottom marked "WD" with a broad arrow ownership mark and the date "Oct. 1909". Brass 5th Lancers type buttons and gilt cap lines and shoulder straps. The tunic is complete with an Edwardian era officer's czapka. The cap body and front peak are black patent leather with gold trim, top is red, complete with matching gilt cord. Gold "ER/VII" plume boss supports a green peacock plume. The gilt front plate features a crown over the British Royal Coat of Arms over the Irish Harp over a banner at the bottom marked " FIFTH ROYAL IRISH LANCERS", in silver. Interior of cap has a red silk lining with a "J. B. JOHNSTONE" marked label. The tunic is in excellent condition, with a small tear at the top center of the plastron. The buttons have a dark unpolished patina. The hat is very good with some areas of minor crazing and a few light scratches on leather. The gold straps are probably of a later period. The other gilt components are bright overall with a few chin chain links slightly bent. The silvered components have an unpolished patina. The lining has some areas of staining. Overall, this is a very complete grouping and displays very well. Complete with glass-based uniform stand.
