This bronze sculpted by G.C. "Gerry" Wentworth (American, 1932-1985) and was probably carved from wax. The highly dynamic scene portrayed is that of a Native American horseman with a tomahawk doing battle with a frontiersman armed with a rifle at the edge of a creek. The artist signed and numbered this piece "33". Also in the base is stamped "© LARRY F BUSCH/1975", who probably executed the bronze work at the foundry. The bronze has a rich brown patina and the fine piece of the horse's rein is still intact. It has been mounted on a 1" thick wood plinth.
