Curved single-fuller blade, decorated with blued panels on each side, with engraved and gilt decorated designs, including scrolls, a patriotic eagle holding an "E. Pluribus/Unum" banner in its beak, and a liberty cap. Marked "Warranted" near ricasso, and the other side featuring floral scrolls, arms motifs, cannons, and a liberty cap. This sword has a unique high-relief hilt, featuring languettes displaying oak leaves and acorns on each side. Reverse-P knuckle bow is decorated en suite. Eagle head pommel with faceted grip spine, and fluted bone grip. Good condition, blade retains about 60-70% blue finish and original polish, with generous traces of gilt finish in engraved designs. Hilt retains an unpolished patina with some traces of silver-plated finish in protected areas. Grip has some minor chipping beneath pommel, and some hairline cracks from age.
