Probably circa 1840. Straight tapered blade with partial single fullers and blued panels with gilt decorated arms motifs on both sides. Silver-plated cast brass hilt with languettes, the right side with Medusa's head chased in relief. Knuckle bow features chased wreaths and an extended branch opposite the quillon. Eagle pommel with fluted and gadrooned bone grip scales. Blade retains about 70-80% blue and gilt finishes with the polished portion turned to grey patina with some light freckling. Hilt retains about 85-90% silver finish with some edge wear and wear to pommel. Grips excellent.
