This fine Sharps target rifle was shipped on July 19th, 1877 to the Harris Company in New York City in caliber .45 2 - 6/10". No other information is available. Rifle features half octagon barrel, case colored frame, checkered non-adjustable trigger, matching number long range rear tang sight with base, heel sight base, checkered steel shotgun buttplate, pistol grip checkered walnut stocks and Bridgeport address. Caliber is .45-90. Barrel was never cut for a rear sight. Stamped "OLD RELIABLE" on top barrel flat along with address and caliber. Windage front sight missing disc. Beautiful pistol grip checkered walnut stock and forearm. Nice traces of case color on frame, approximately 50% on lockplate, 20% on left side. Untouched screws with generous amounts of Nitre blue. Excellent stock with checkered steel shotgun buttplate. Factory letter. Fine bore and action. Extremely handsome, high condition and scarce No. 2 Long Range.
