Thrasher was born in Paris, Texas in 1940. His paintings are sought by many western art collectors and are displayed in many galleries of distinction. His western and wildlife as well as his scenes of old Mexico and his landscapes are all widely known. On the back is the title "Buffalo Sunset", as well as artist J.W. Thrasher, medium: oil, size 12" by 16", and the original price $1,400, on a Troy's Gallery identification Tag. This dramatic painting features the image of a herd of buffalo strolling away against a magnificent sunset on the western prairie. Image condition is excellent, frame has some high edge wear.
