This Saddle Ring Carbine, like the .25-35, .32 Special and .30-30, appears to be basically as new and unfired. The most desirable and largest caliber of this series. This carbine was manufactured in 1921. Features the scarce half magazine, full round barrel, single band, post front sight, Winchester three leaf folding express sight, blued finish, walnut stocks, carbine butt, and saddle ring and stud. We are unaware of any time prior of an offering of four of the five caliber 1920's Saddle Ring Carbines being offered in one sale in near unfired condition for all examples. This carbine has a hint of muzzle wear, the blue is thinning just a bit behind rear sight, and has the usual saddle ring mark. The barrel band retains all of the original factory blue, as does nose cap. The frame, lever and bolt retain 100% of the original factory blue with no cartridge wear on loading gate. Buttplate retains 99.9% original blue that has thinned 1/8" at toe of buttplate. Walnut stocks are as new with raised grain. Arguably the finest classic .38-55 Model 1894 carbine in existence. Even the screw heads are near mint and untouched. Mint bore and action. Incredible condition and as part of this set of four, could never be repeated again. Factory research states that 1894 Winchester serial number applied May 15th, 1920. No other information available.
