Features dovetail front sporting sight, Lawrence patented 1859 rear ladder sight. Both sights are period replacements. Barrel is stamped "SHARPS RIFLE HARTFORD CONNECTICUT". Tang is stamped "SHARPS PATENT 1848". Serial number on rear of frame and tang. All metal is a grey patina with razor sharp legends. Features double set adjustable triggers and walnut stocks an forend with steel buttplate. No visible military inspector stamps. Stocks are excellent and proud to metal. Strong, clean, rifled bore with minor black powder abrasion. Nice, early example of Slant Breech sporting rifle.
