Manufactured 1905. This scarce 1895 Winchester was offered in one of the original two black powder cartridges, very few of which were manufactured once the smokeless cartridges were introduced. Standard in all respects with sporting sights, blued finish and walnut stocks with rifle butt. Barrel retains approximately 90% of the original Winchester factory blue finish that is starting to darken with patina, giving a beautiful deep, rich, dark blue appearance. Top of the frame and tang are soft brown patina. Sides of the magazine retains 85% original blue. Sides of the frame retains approximately 50-60% blue thinning to smooth patina as well. Grey patina on lever and buttplate. Walnut stocks are very good to excellent, proud to metal with a few of the usual bumps and bruises, but with untouched all original finish. Fine bore and action. Very fine overall original condition in a scarce caliber that needs to apologies.
