According to the shipping records, Mickey Mantle ordered six of these bats on April 1st, 1960 in anticipation for the opening game of the 1960 season at Boston on April 19th. It would take about that long for the bats to be produced and shipped so as to arrive in New York by the opening day train trip to Boston. The Yankees beat the Red Sox that day 8-4 with Mantle going 2 for 3. Mantle was an All Star in 1960 as well as runner up for the MVP to Roger Maris but it is the unforgettablef 1960 World Series that remains in most fans minds when reflecting on the 1960 season. Mantle has a sensational series in which he played in all seven games. He had a total of 25 at bats and drove in eight runs with his 10 hits and three home runs during that series while batting .400 average. This Mantle bat shows signs of heavy game use with marks on all sides of the bat. The factory stamps are strong. Use on all sides and matching shipping records are about the only traits to be found on a Mantle gamer as very few documented game bats have been observed with a magic marker number "7" on the knob. The PSA letter details the measurements and bat dating to match the original Louisville Slugger shipping records. A great game used Mickey Mantle bat dating to one of the most deflating Yankee seasons in the memories of great Yankee history. LOA from PSA DNA CORRECTION: There is no # 7 on the knob
