Originally belonging to and created by Homer Tate, this "shrunken head" was constructed of an aggregate of mud, sticks, animal bones, human hair, and glues to resemble a real shrunken human head. Tate would sell his creations at his shop in Arizona during the mid-1940s. This style of head most closely resembles style No.7, "Female Pegged Lips", which features lips pierced by small wooden sticks and long brown hair. It was acquired around 1959 by Dan Dorsey of Dorsey's Strange Exhibition sideshow where he proudly displayed it in a custom made glass case. A great piece of American sideshow history!
