A rare and desirable Colt New Line .30 revolver with beautiful factory ivory grips. R.L. Wilson states that all engraved .30 caliber New Line Colts are rare, and this example is no exception. The engraving is elaborate with beautiful shell design on top strap with ovals in scrolls on cylinder. Barrel retains nearly all of its original nickel finish with some wear at muzzle. Cylinder has most of its original nickel with a few extremely minor spots of erosion. Frame retains most of its original nickel, however backstrap has been polished so steel is blending in with the nickel. Ivory grips have beautiful patina, screws finished in original nitre blue. Hammer has nitre blue on saddle and spine, bright polish on sides. Gun comes in an original period purse casing in good condition. A very attractive ensemble.
