With Colt factory letter confirming shipment to John P. Lovell Arms Company of Boston, Massachusetts. This extremely rare factory lettered Sheriff's Model retains nearly all of its original bright Colt factory nickel finish, with only very minor spotting on cylinder where it must have rested in a drawer in Boston. Screws retains nearly all of their brilliant factory nitre blue, as does base pin. Hammer and trigger retain almost all of their original factory nickel. Bore is brilliant and cylinder shows no evidence of firing. Hard rubber eagle grips fit well but are possibly replaced. This rare gun was once the property of legendary Colt collector Albert Brichaux, who sent for the factory letter in December of 1983. If you're looking for a great nickel, factory original Sheriff's Model, look no further! CORRECTION: Photo added. Barrel length corrected to 4".
