An extremely rare, one-of-ten ever made, factory engraved Colt Police Positive Target .22 revolvers. One of the very rarest factory engraved Colt double actions, this Police Positive Target has beautiful factory engraving, likely by Wilbur Glahn. Gun retains nearly 100% of its original nickel finish, which was once gold-washed. There is much gilding remaining on top strap and sides of frame. Face of cylinder appears to have been polished. Trigger shows considerable traces of gilding within checkering, as does checkered backstrap. Factory medallion pearl grips have beautiful fire, medallion on right side retains gilding. This extremely rare and desirable revolver must have been truly spectacular when fully gilded and remains spectacular as offered. Engraving is as crisp and sharp as the day it left the factory in 1931. A fantastic find for the collector of Colt double action revolvers. CORRECTION: Barrel length corrected to 6".
