The New Police Colt revolver was introduced in 1896 and was a favorite of New York City Commissioner Theodore Roosevelt, who equipped the entire police force with the New Police. Serial No. 40875 is a stellar specimen of this limited production model. Barrel retains nearly all of its bright factory nickel finish, as do the cylinder and frame. Hammer has brilliant nitre blue on spine and saddle, trigger also has brilliant nitre blue on sides with wear to front. Screws retains their original blue. Thick pearl grips are brilliant with no chips and only an extremely minor, tight age crack on right panel. Bore is brilliant and face of cylinder indicates very little use. A very fine example.
