Manufactured 1876. This beautiful revolver would have been perfectly at home in Colt's magnificent display at The Philadelphia Centennial. Cuno Helfricht shop engraving is crisply executed throughout. Barrel retains nearly 100% bright nickel, as does the frame with virtually no peeling and only an extremely minor spot where the grip meets frame. Cylinder retains nearly all its gilding but has toned. Hammer retains most of its gilding, also toned. Trigger has some gilding but mostly toned. Ivory grips fit perfectly; left panel with extremely minor tight age cracking near screw escutcheon, right grip with several long tight cracks running nearly full length of a beautifully patinated grip. Original case is French-fitted gilt leather. Moroccan leather with most gilt remaining in stamps. Interior of case is excellent with superb gilt stamping on lid "Colt's Revolver" with French retailer's stamp. A Philadelphia Centennial Colt Exhibition quality New Line revolver.
