One of the finest cased sets of factory engraved Colt No. 3 Derringers ever to be offered for sale. These lovely guns are cased in their original silk lined Hartley & Graham case with Hartley & Graham gilt stamped ribbon. Finished in bright nickel and retaining considerable traces of original gilding, these guns are nothing short of spectacular. Gun (A) retains nearly all of its original factory bright nickel with only minor staining on left side of barrel. Beautifully engraved frame retains considerable traces of original bright gilding. Engraving is sharp and crisp. Barrel screw retains some original bluing. Hammer retains much darkened case color. Pearl grips are numbered "26218" obviously an error. Inside grip stamped "E" for engraved. Pearl grips are nearly perfect with good fire and no chips. Grip screw slightly marred. Bore is near mint with no evidence of having been fired. Gun (B) barrel retains nearly 100% of its original bright nickel. Gilding on frame is bright within the sharp cuts of the engraving. Screws retains considerable original bluing. Hammer retains much faded case colors. Pearl grips numbered 25454 but are original to gun and nearly perfect with no chips and good fire. Bore is brilliant with no evidence of firing. Exterior of box shows wear but retains some original gilt stamping. Interior of box with minor staining, some fraying to silk around hinges but basically fine. A unique set of Colt Derringers impossible to duplicate. Provenance: the National Firearms Museum in exchange for a documented Rough Rider Colt Single Action Army. CORRECTION: Barrel length is 2-1/2".
