An extremely rare and unique pair of luxurious Helfricht-engraved U.S. Army Model 1903 Colt double action revolvers, serials No. 219751 and No. 219752, with factory checkered ivory grips. U.S. Army 1903 double actions are rare to find with factory engraving but to find a consecutively numbered pair is more than unusual. Both revolvers have "J.T.T." inspection on left side of trigger guard bow. Engraving is of a very high order, probably by Helfricht himself. Gun (A) Revolver No. 219751 retains nearly all of its original bright factory bluing. Cylinder has all of its original bluing with an almost invisible tracking line. Frame has all of its original bright blue with extremely minor fading at butt strap. Trigger retains most of its nitre blue, as does the hammer with polished sides. Revolver shows almost no evidence of firing and would rate near mint. Checkered ivory grips show excellent age patina, with only minor checking around escutcheon. Gun (B) Revolver No. 219752 is in virtually identical condition throughout with the exception of some very minor browning to the blue in front of frame and trigger guard bow. Grips are nearly perfect with lovely golden patination and crisp checkering. Interestingly, revolver No. 219751 has a military half-moon sight, while revolver No. 219752 has a factory adjustable target sight. One of the most spectacular and attractive factory engraved pairs of double action Colt revolvers. It has been our pleasure to offer and catalog this magnificent pair of revolvers.
