This beautiful engraved Colt Model 3 Derringer features crisply cut factory engraving and retains nearly all of its slightly toned nickel finish on barrel, frame, hammer and trigger. Beautiful dark rosewood grips have most of their original varnish. Bright bore showing little or no use. Derringer is cased in an original burl walnut case with silver plaque engraved "Lieut. Col. Steble" for Richard Fell Steble, Mayor of Liverpool England. Case is in excellent condition overall; bound with brass strips and is of the highest quality English craftsmanship, as befitting a highly respected British Lord Mayor. Colonel Steble appears extensively in the historical record and further research on this beautiful derringer will prove most rewarding.
